For many of us the warmer weather is a reminder that the RVing season has begun. We have waited to pack the family up and go. It doesn’t matter if you are Renting an RV or have one of your own, it just time! One of the greatest things is the smell of the grill and all the goodies that go on top of it. RV nights are just calling for a good campfire. For kids and adults too, s’mores and campfire stories make the trip memorable. How many of us watch the kids eating s’mores and can remember when we were the little ones with the sticky faces? Memories… are priceless!
Below are some great S’more variations from the traditional smores. Hope you enjoy! For more recipes check out our Pinterest Board – Smores.
S’Mores Banana Boats
Ingredients:
Banana, chocolate chips, small marshmallows and graham crackers.
Directions:
Peel a banana (make sure it’s ripe) and cut a slit down the middle. Split it open but not all the way through.
Fill the inside of the banana with as many marshmallows and chocolate chips that you want!
Set the banana on a square piece of aluminum foil and “tent” it so it won’t melt to the foil.
Grill for 5-6 minute.
Open the tin foil, crunch up a graham cracker and let the banana cool. Dig in!
Goldfish Graham S’more Dish
Ingredients:
1 package of honey grahams, 1/2 package of 12 oz. chocolate chips, 1/2 bag mini marshmallows
Directions:
Layer your ingredients in a small iron skillet. Chocolate chips first, then add a few grahams, marshmallows, more chocolate chips, and a top layer of grahams.
Put it over the fire for just a few minutes until things begin to show signs of melting, not too long or your s’mores will burn. Once you remove the pan from the fire, it will continue to radiate heat and melt the rest of your chocolate.
S’more Cones
Ingredients:
12 Sugar or Waffle Cones, 1 bag mini marshmallows and 12 oz chocolate chips.
Directions:
Fill each cone with marshmallows and chocolate chips. Wrap in aluminum foil. Throw on heated grill for 7 – 10 minutes. Unwrap and enjoy. Be careful as contents may be hot.
Marshmallow Kahlua Shots – for the Adults
Fun for the adults on the camping trip! Gently roast a marshmallow, empty out the center of a marshmallow, and pour Kahlua or your favorite liquor or whiskey inside.
Teddy Grahams Bag Smores
Ingredients:
Marshmallows, chocolate chips, bag of teddy grahams, cookies in a bag, fude stripes, mini nilla wafers, the possibilities are endless.
Directions:
Cut the bag of Teddy Grahams down the side of the bag. This provides a wider opening for preparing and eating the dessert. Add the chocolate pieces.
Toast your marshmallow, then immediately add it to the bag so it will be hot and melt the chocolate. Use a fork to mix it together and eat!
Campfire Strawberries
Ingredients:
Strawberries + marshmallow fluff
Directions:
Dip strawberries in marshmallow fluff and roast them over a campfire. Amazing!
